Neighborhood Guide

South Beach & Riomar

Quiet coastal elegance south of the main strip

  1. Home
  2. Neighborhoods
  3. South Beach & Riomar

Overview

What it's like to live here

South Beach and Riomar sit on the barrier island south of Central Beach. This area is quieter, more residential, and feels distinctly unhurried. Streets are lined with mature oaks and sea grape hedges. The beach is less crowded. The homes are well-kept. If Central Beach is the social hub, South Beach is where people go to exhale.

Walkability

Moderate. The neighborhood is residential with sidewalks, but shops and restaurants require a short drive north to Ocean Drive or west to the mainland. Great for walking the beach and quiet neighborhood strolls.

Bikeability

Good. A1A runs through with a dedicated bike lane. The flat terrain and low traffic make it pleasant for cycling north to Central Beach or south toward Indian River Shores.

Beach Distance

Direct beach access — South Beach Park and Tracking Station Beach are both in this neighborhood.

Rent Range

$1,800–$2,800/mo for 1–2 bedroom apartments and small homes

Best for

Couples, remote workers, anyone who wants beach access without the social buzz of Central Beach. A quieter alternative with premium locations.
